Diversity week 2018

Diversity week was a great success and pupils and staff had fun learning new things along the way.  Many activities took place including blind football, dance sessions with Lexicon dance company, wheelchair sports, an information sessions delivered by the Gay Youth Rights Organisation, Yellow House Performing Arts and Irish, Spanish and Welsh studies!

The aim of diversity week is to allow pupils to learn new skills and gain greater knowledge and understanding of the term ‘Diversity’.  The week began with a whole school assembly and then all lessons had a diversity theme.  A range of areas were covered including sexuality, culture, religion and race.  Staff worked very hard planning the week and all the pupils had fun along the way.

Diversity week also included safer internet day.  All classes had to produce a 6ft long poster using the theme click, connect and share respect.  The posters will be on display in school to remind pupils how to keep safe online.

Thanks to everyone who made it such a great success.
