Independent travel

We are keen to develop students' independent travel and life skills. A group of 6th form students regularly practise these skills with Bank View staff.

In addition to this we are working with Phil Nicols from Liverpool’s Independent Travel Training service to develop travel skills.

There are now a number of students from years 9, 10, 11 and the 6th form who make their own way to and from school by public transport - we even have two students who cycle!

On April 7th a group of students and staff went to the town hall. The students recieved a certificate from Councillor Nick Small to celebrate the fact they had complete the travel programme.

A competition to develop a poster to promote independent travel was also judged and we're delighted to say one of our students won first prize. Here is a photograph of her next to the winning design.

If you want to find more out about the Independent travel programme school has application forms you can complete or there is information on Liverpools Early Help website.
