Base 1 + Base 2
In Base 1 and Base 2, we have integrated ‘Seesaw’ into our curriculum. Once we receive your letter of consent, your child will be trained in the platform. Teachers have prepared lessons ready for any periods of quarantine or lockdown.
Our aim is to provide high quality online lessons and activities for our pupils to complete that follow the sequence of our curriculum as laid out in our curriculum planning. Seesaw enables us to achieve this and, crucially, enables our teachers to give high quality feedback to pupils when they complete work.
Seesaw

Seesaw is a secure online platform for student engagement. Teachers can empower students to create, reflect, share, and collaborate. Students “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs, and links. It’s simple to get student work in one place and nothing is shared without teacher approval.
All students are given an individual login code to share any home learning which is competed at home. This can be pictures, writing or videos created in other app. All learning your child is doing at home, Seesaw allows them to share this with their teacher.
Only your child and their teachers will be able to see the work shared and it will not be made public to other students in class.
Below, you will find a link to a video by Mr P ICT who will explain just what Seesaw is and how to get set up and use it effectively at home. You will see that it is very simple and after a little bit of practice the children will have no problems using this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9FyB1SCbeM
As a staff, we are very excited to get set up with Seesaw and engage the children in their home learning.
White Rose Maths
White Rose is a maths scheme we use in school and Seesaw allows to continue with the scheme even at home with all lessons being uploaded.

Lexia Core 5

This programme helps the children with their reading and spelling skills. The children enjoy playing the educational games and we have seen a real improvement in their reading and spelling ability from using this programme. Your child is also able to access this from home. Please remember our E-Safety rules when children are using devices – they should only access it in 20-30 minute sessions.

Oxford Owl website offers an online library full of different books to read and browse through at home.
Base 3
In the event of bubble closure or if your child has to self-isolate, we have an online offer for remote education. We are going to be using Google Classroom. A letter has been sent home with instructions on how to use the program and your child has been shown in school how to use it. On Google Classroom you will find work from a variety of subjects that your child can access, complete and upload for marking and feedback. These activities and resources can also be used for revision or homework purposes. If you would prefer your child to have a paper offer rather than online, this can be arranged through the office if you call and ask for a paper version.
Your child also has access to an e-book library called Oxford Owls. A letter with login details has been sent home with your child. As always, children can access Lexia for reading practice and IXL for maths quizzes.
