Best practice in Teaching Assistant award

October 2023 update

Bank View has recently been re-accredited (October 2023) with our Best practice in Teaching Assistant award.

This was an opportunity to celebrate and evaluate the impact of all our teaching assistants.

The assessor visited the Fazakerley site and spoke to staff, pupils and governors.

She saw TAs working in the classroom being supported with their learning.

Two TAs are based in each class, they were seen supporting students, with their learning. They had a good rapport with the students, they noticed who was in need of support and calmly gave the support needed.

She also saw TAs providing 1:1 and small group support as part of our intervention programmes.

One to one sessions with students on Monster phonics and Maths were seen taking place, the skills and knowledge of the TAs were evident in their communication with the students and their approach to facilitating learning.

A HLTA leads on Sensory Circuits each morning, support students to self-regulate and become ready to learn. A bespoke approach to meet the needs of each child is used, which was seen in action.
