After School Clubs
We run clubs from 3.30 to 4.30pm in school on Wednesday and Thursday.
On some evenings more than one clubs runs. we have tried to offer a range of different activities so there is a club to appeal to everyones interests.
Dance club aims to provide pupils with a fun and exciting experience which will include a variety of different types of dance. Pupils will be involved in choreography and performance. They will experience the full process of creating a dance, right from selecting a song through to creating the moves and linking them together before finally performing. The performance may be videoed on a school iPad or even performed live in an assembly or show depending on the group.
The main focus of this club is to develop pupil’s teamwork, co-operation and discipline skills. They will be encouraged to work together, support each other and follow the rules as well as experience competitive matches. The session will focus on fun and skill development prior to leading into a match.
This club will allow pupils to experience a variety of new and different skills using a wide range of materials that they may never have come into contact with. These will range from cross stitch through to model making using different materials. Pupils will plan and create activities and produce a portfolio of work. It will often be themed around current events such as Halloween, Christmas or Easter.
This club is aimed at increasing pupil confidence, listening and communication skills. It will focus on building characters, interacting with peers and vocal projection. Pupils will work together to plan and perform a show. The audience will be selected based upon the needs of the group and could range from a whole school assembly to a small collection of staff or pupils.
The main focus of this club is to develop pupil’s teamwork, co-operation and discipline skills. They will be encouraged to work together, support each other and follow the rules as well as experience competitive matches. This will be done using a variety of different sporting activities some of which may be new to pupils.
This club will develop existing skills that have been learnt in DT lessons. Pupils will be involved in planning, developing and manufacturing a variety of projects. They will improve their scientific knowledge as the club will be looking at building model cars and Aerodynamics. The club will also support school dramatic productions by producing sets and props.
A fun way to practice musical skills such as beat and rhythm using samba drums with friends. Exploring Brazilian and other ‘world’ rhythms we are creating a school drum band that is lead for and by the pupils.
