A message from Bank View’s speech and language therapists

We are Alix and Anita. Speech and language therapists working together in Bank View this year. 

What we do:

• The SALT team provides assessment, training and support for students with Speech, Language and Communication. 
• We will support the children in many ways, working collaboratively with staff to   develop a communication friendly environment across the school. Work with staff to develop group interventions to support language and communication skills and offer  specialist support where needed,  offering direct therapy. We will work alongside other professionals where appropriate.
• Students can be referred into the service directly by parent/guardian or from within the school with parent/guardian consent. Once a referral is accepted, a student could be seen in school.  Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you would like a referral form. 
• We will be running termly drop in/coffee mornings to support communication as a family.

Anita works on the Croxteth site and Alix at Fazakerley and Speke.

They have also provided training to staff in Lego therapy and Blank level questioning.
