Aims, Ethos, Values and our Vision

Aims and ethos

Teamwork lies at the core of Bank View’s ethos; the entire school community works together and recognises the role they each play and the strengths they bring. Everyone at Bank View truly cares about the students, we all work tirelessly to improve the students’ outcomes so they are successful in life.

We have high expectations of our students, striving through personalised pathways to engage them in the challenge of learning, helping them to become evaluators of their own learning so they succeed.

Our fundamental focus is to realise every child’s true potential. We want all our learners to be aware of their strengths and appreciate the value of them. We want them to value themselves and others for who they are.

Our skilled staff support pupils to overcome their barriers to learning and social interaction so that they can go on to achieve independent living, employment, good physical and mental health, resilience, friends, relationships and community inclusion.

All students enjoy equality of opportunity, regardless of sex, race or ability. We provide an education which is a happy experience, relevant and worthwhile, preparing our students for the world of work and ensuring that they leave us as caring young adults who have developed positive characteristics/values and are respectful of others.

Values

Vision

As a school our vision for the future is to continue to develop our provision and skill set to meet the ever increasing complexity of pupils needs. We seek to look forward and outwards in order to ensure our practice is innovative and dynamic, sharing our expertise to support others outside our own school community. We will continue to lead the way in developing employment opportunities for young people with SEN.
